A MAN was taken to hospital after his car collided with a tractor.

Police were called to Whalley Road, Wilpshire shortly before 2pm yesterday after a Renault which had been travelling towards Blackburn collided with a Claas tractor.

A police spokesman said the driver of the Renault, a 57-year-old man from Blackburn, suffered suspected stomach injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The tractor driver, a 51-year-old man from Haslingden, was not injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision.

Sgt Phil Baxendale said: “Did you see a collision between a car and tractor in Wilpshire?

“We want to speak to any witnesses to establish the exact nature of the collision.

“If you can help, please contact police on 101 quoting log reference 0712 of April 12.”
