CHORLEY residents are being called upon to pledge as little as three hours of their free time to support young people, by volunteering at young people’s charity, Inspire Youth Zone.

Located on Chapel Street, Inspire Youth Zone, is due to open on Saturday, May 5 and is looking to recruit over 70 volunteers by the official opening day.

Inspire Youth Zone, which will be open 7 days a week, needs volunteers to support staff in delivering a range of fun and engaging activities for young people aged 8-19, and up to 25 for those with a disability, including drama, dance, arts & crafts, sports, cooking and much more.

Volunteer and Training Manager, Michelle Graham said: “Without volunteers, Inspire would not be able to open for young people seven days per week.

“By volunteering at Inspire, you could play a pivotal role in the success of Inspire and help to ensure the Youth Zone opens with a first-class offer on Saturday 5th May.

“So far we have had a brilliant response from the community with around 50 volunteers already signed up and ready to start volunteering as soon as Inspire opens.

“As Inspire Youth Zone will be open to young people 52 weeks per year, we need many more volunteers to join us in helping to support young people to lead healthier, happier, more aspirational lives’.

“If you have an interest in sports, arts, drama, dance or simply want to make a difference in your community, then we’d love to hear from you!”

You can win a sleepover for young people and 10 friends at the £4.8m facility at the Chorley Youth Zone.

To be in with a chance to win then simply register as a member before May 5 and you will be entered into the prize draw.
