A 32-YEAR-OLD woman who became “volatile” when her partner was being arrested ended up being PAVA sprayed before being locked up herself.
Blackburn magistrates heard Rachel Louise Pemberton went into the kitchen and police believed she was going to self-harm.
Pemberton, of Hollowhead Avenue, Wilpshire, Blackburn, admitted a breach of the peace. She was bound over in £100 to keep the peace for 12 months.
Ben Leach, defending, said there had been a false report to the police of problems at his client’s home.
“She maintains there was no reason for the police to arrest her partner,” said Mr Leech. “She went into the kitchen and it seems for some reason the police thought she was going to self-harm. She was PAVA sprayed.”
