A MAN was hit by a train at Blackburn railway station this morning.
Officers were called to the incident at around 9.05am following reports the man had been struck by a train.
The British Transport Police said the man was treated by paramedics for a head injury and taken to hospital.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Blackburn railway station following reports of a person struck by a train.
"The call came into police into 9.04am.
"Officers attended the scene alongside paramedics and colleagues from Lancashire Police.
"A man was treated by paramedics for a head injury and taken to hospital.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called to the incident at 8.58am this morning.
"An advanced paramedic in an ambulance vehicle and an ambulance attended the incident.
"A man has been taken to Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital by land ambulance with head injuries."
An eyewitness reported seeing five police cars, a fire engine and an ambulance vehicle at the station.
The eyewitness said: "I saw a man in a wheelchair in the foyer at Blackburn Railway station.
"He had bandages on his head and was being treated."
