A GIRL has been making waves in the fashion world by strutting her stuff at some of the world’s most prolific runway fashion shows.

Eight-year-old Lexi Griffin, from Livesey, Blackburn, has just returned home after events in London and New York.

In December, Lexi jetted off to America, where she walked the runway at the Cosmopolitan Top Model event and now she’s just returned home from walking one of the most prestigious runways in the world at London Fashion Week.

After the LFW event, which was held at The Millennium Gloucester Hotel, Lexi’s mum, Sonya Griffin, said she ‘couldn’t have been more proud’ of her young model.

In front of over 70 photographers the little girl modelled collections for two fashion designers, Be Unique Be You and Lavender Rose Designs.

Speaking about her daughter’s journey to the runway, Sonya said: “Lexi began modelling last year at the age of seven.

“From that moment on it has been her passion- I couldn’t be more proud.”

Lexi’s dream of being a model lead her to being fashion scouted to model on the runway for fashion designs such as Wanda Beauchamp and Janay Deann Designs.

Speaking about what it was like to walk on the runway, Lexi said she didn’t feel nervous at all and that she ‘loved ever second of it.’

The eight-year-old, who attends Meadowhead Junior School, said she was honoured to be chosen to walk in the fashion shows.

Sonya went on to say: “Lexi has learned the true meaning that beauty is being comfortable in your own skin and it’s about knowing and accepting who you are.

“This is a very special time for Lexi. The new experiences, learning new things and learning how to have fun is so important whilst she’s chasing her dreams.”

Speaking about what it’s like to make it as a young model, Lexi said: “You should never ever doubt yourself. The most important thing is doing your best each time.

“If you lose or fail, get up and do it again, always be kind and just have fun!”
