CARNFORTH Town Council was last night (Wednesday, January 17) due to elect its new mayor and deputy mayor for 2018/19.
The chain of office is currently bestowed on Cllr Pat Wooff, with Cllr Bob Roe as deputy.
Councillors were also to consider appointing a new town crier; and to give their views on plans for eight new homes on a plot of land behind the Taps on the Green pub at Kellet Road, Carnforth.
