A BIRD charity wants to hear from farmers in the Forest of Bowland who would like to get paid to help wildlife thrive on their land.

Applications are open for the RSPB’s newly expanded Countryside Stewardship Scheme (CS) which rewards farmers and other land managers for giving nature a home.

This year Countryside Stewardship includes four new packages including an upland offer, which could benefit hill farmers in the Forest of Bowland who are prepared to incorporate wildlife-friendly measures on part of their farmed land. These options will help provide nesting and foraging habitat for upland birds, including breeding waders. To apply Countryside Stewardship Scheme call 07814 462429
