A MODEL making group will host an exhibition.
The East Lancashire Model Railway Organisation will host their first exhibition this weekend.
The event will take place at Accrington Road Community Centre, Blackburn, on Saturday and Sunday and will run from 10am until 4pm.
Event manager Kevin Jones said the exhibition will be open to anyone with an interest in model making and will not be limited to trains.
He said:”The exhibition is open to modellers and anyone with an interest in modelling.
“We will be focusing on trains and boats, but if enough people are interested hopefully we will be able to expand in the future.
“We are trying to get local kids involved and give them something to do with their hands and their brains. The exhibition is suitable for all ages.
“We want to try and get local kids into modelling and give them something to do with their brains and their hands.
“We’re trying to get them away from their Playstations. There are no modelling shops in Blackburn, which is such a shame because there are a lot of people who are interested in modelling.
“How many dad’s are there with old model train sets in their loft and nothing to do with them? loads I bet. We want to re-ignite the hobby in Blackburn
The event will include talks and how to sessions by modellers as well as stalls and traders.
The event is priced at £5 for adults, £3 for children and concessions or £11 for a family ticket.
