TODAY’s delve into the Lancashire Telegraph archives has revealed a photograph of traffic chaos, 1950s style.
A queue of buses are trying to get along Railway Road in Blackburn after leaving the Boulevard in this picture taken in 1952.
The driver of the open topped, Morgan sportscar looks hemmed in by the buses and parked cars as he follows the tramlines over the then cobbled street towards the Boulevard.
In the distance you can make out the distinctive art deco frontage of the Woolworth’s building which is now where Blackburn Market and the Mall stands.
