THESE brave souls were preparing to face the ice cold waters of Lee Dam Reservoir near Todmorden back in 1983.
In this photograph from the Lancashire Telegraph archives, it’s easy to spot the spectators wrapped up in coast, hats, scarves and gloves from those talking part in the charity even who are wearing slightly less.
Comedy vicars and St Trinian’s schoolgirls took to the water alongside more serious swimmers for the events.
