Addresses in the Beardwood and Lammack areas were targeted overnight, a spokesman said.

Officers say they intend to be "as visible as possible" and are appealing for CCTV footage to help inquiries.

"Cars have been the intended target with three vehicles being taken.

We advise all members of the public to be vigilant and make sure all windows and doors are well secure, as well as keeping keys and valuables out of sight.

"Over the next few days we will try to be as visible as we can to provide reassurance to members of the public.

"If anyone in these areas has any CCTV we ask if you could view them between 1am and 4am to see if anything was caught.
