NEW signs planned for Grasmere's Co-op grocery store would be "more aesthetically pleasing" than the existing ones, Lake District National Park Authority planners heard.
The heritage-grey signs are to replace the existing green signage as part of the company's national rebrand.
Lakes Parish Council raised concerns about lit signs being "inappropriate" in a conservation area.
However, the national park's development control committee granted planning consent after hearing the new signs at the Broadgate store would be "an improvement".
