A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of affray following an incident with a knife in Blackburn this morning.
Police had been called to Rothesay Road, in the Shadsworth area, to reports a man had been seen with a knife.
A man was treated in a nearby street by paramedics for a hand injury, which was not described as life-threatening.
A 34-year-old Blackburn man has been arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray. He remains in custody.
A knife was recovered at the scene.
A police spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 10.45am today to Rothesay Road, Blackburn, to reports a man had been seen with a knife.
“We attended and found the man at a nearby address on Arran Avenue, suffering from a hand injury.
“This was treated at the scene by paramedics. A 34-year-old man from Blackburn has since been arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody.”
