A REGIONAL think-tank has urged Theresa May to boost transport spending in the North after comments in Parliament.
She said in Prime Ministers Questions on Wednesday: “We are committed to ensuring the whole country gets the transport infrastructure it needs. It is not about making a choice between North and South.”
Luke Raikes, research fellow at IPPR North said: “We need a real commitment to the fresh billions to get northern transport to where it needs to be.”
He added: “The best way to achieve this is to devolve both funding and powers to the North, rather than waiting on Whitehall.”
