LABOUR has called for the resignation of Lancashire County Council’s Tory leader Geoff Driver before a crunch meeting of its Cabinet tomorrow.
It will discuss his controversial proposals to make cuts to 30 services including social care to save £55million.
They come on top of Cllr Driver winning approval for new management structure which could see the current chief executive Jo Turton forced out.
Labour group leader Azhar Ali has called a special meeting on Friday to discuss Cllr Driver’s position.
He said: “It’s clear that his plans would not save money, but it will actually cost the people of Lancashire millions of pounds.
"Cllr Driver is the leader and as such he should resign.”
