ORGANISATIONS are being invited to run a multi-use games area which is in a poor condition after being vandalised.
Blackburn with Darwen Council is looking for a community partner to support the redevelopment of the Green Lane Multi-Games Area, next to the Greenfields Community Centre in Green Lane, Blackburn.
Council bosses are tendering the site as part of a community asset transfer.
They believe if it is improved it will attract more funding so it can be built back into a space that children, families and residents can enjoy.
Groups are invited to discuss how they would give the community play area a new lease of life and open it up again fully for all residents while offering a plan for maintenance and development of the site.
The multi use games area is currently an informal play space for ball games in Green Lane.
It is open to the community for informal play 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Invitation to tender for the community asset transfer will run until Friday, September 8.
Groups will need to be registered to access and submit an expression of interest.
For more information and to submit interest visit the North West’s local authority procurement portal the chest at www.the-chest.org.uk.
