PEOPLE are the beating heart of any place, giving the town where they live its being.
Communities have been created across East Lancashire through many hundreds of years.
From small villages our towns expanded and prospered thanks to the Industrial Revolution, as workers moved in to take jobs in textiles, coal and iron as mechanisation and new inventions saw the rise of mills, factories and foundries.
Today we look at some of those people who have lived, worked and played in East Lancashire and so added to its rich heritage over the years.
