Latest results show that Oliver is the most popular name given to the boys while Amelia is the top pick for girls.
At least new parents in Lancashire are keeping up with the national trend in the boys stakes as Oliver was the top name nationally.
The study from Character Cottages uses BabyCentre national records and Preston is one of the cities featured in the survey.
Meanwhile in Lancaster the top picks were Aiden and Emily.
