NURSES will be paying tribute to 100 years of the profession in East Lancashire with a series of exhibitions on Friday, May 12.
They have been organised to celebrate International Nurses Day.
They will take place at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, Burnley General Teaching Hospital, Pendle, Clitheroe and Accrington community hospitals, St Peter’s Centre in Burnley and Rossendale Primary Health Care Centre.
Among the exhibits on display will be nurse’s uniforms from the different eras and historical nursing memorabilia including equipment, a walk-through history and photographs.
Chief nurse for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Christine Pearson, said: “We are putting the artefacts on display to tell the fascinating story of nursing.”
