AN ALLEGED 120mph chase ended with a driver being stopped by a police dog.

Police attempted to stop an Audi S3 in Westgate, Burnley, at around 11.25pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said a 10-minute pursuit saw the car go onto the M65, before being stopped in Dickens Street, Blackburn. The vehicle is alleged to have reached speeds of 120mph.

A man attempted to run from the scene but was stopped by police dog Nouchka, officers said. A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without a licence.

He was later de-arrested and taken to Royal Preston Hospital. Police did not say whether his injuries were serious.
