A SCHOOL has received a number of complaints about pupils dropping litter and anti-social behaviour.

The assistant headteacher of SS John Fisher and Thomas More RC School in Colne has written to parents to remind them of the 'high expectations' they have regarding the way children behave in the community.

Justin Walmsley said: "During last half term, the school received a number of complaints from local residents regarding increasing amounts of litter.

"In addition, there have been a small number of anti-social incidents involving some of our pupils using the local shops including Asda.

"As a school, we always respond to any issues that occur in our local community and consistently remind our pupils about how they should act responsibly when travelling to and from school.

"It is at these times that public perceptions of our school are influenced, and we are sure you will agree that it is important that our school continues maintain its excellent reputation in this area."

He said youngsters are not allowed to use local shops after 8.30am unless accompanied by an adult and asked parents to remind children to act in a responsible manner regarding the disposal of rubbish.
