ORGANISATIONS from East Lancashire dominated the board at a prestigious county wide business awards ceremony.

More than 1,000 guests attended the Lancashire Business Views' Red Rose Awards held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

The big winners were Birchall Foodservice in Burnley, who won three awards for customer service, employer of the year and family business.

Three generations of the Birchall family involved in the business were at the event to receive the awards.

Colin Birchall, whose grandfather founded the company, said: “It’s part of our life. As a family we’ve been very fortunate in having members who have been interested and capable in business.”

Burnley business Veka received the large business award and several other Burnley based companies also won awards, with Wired Marketing winning the digital agency prize.

Two Accrington based companies picked up gongs, with DanceSyndrome winning the not-for-profit award for their dance workshops helping those with disabilities.

CMAC Partnership also won the growing business award for its work providing pre-planned and emergency ground transport.

A total of 26 awards were handed out on the night as the event, which sold-out for the fourth consecutive year.

The financial business award was won by Asset Finance Solutions while the manufacturing business prize went to Pets Choice, both based in Blackburn.

Two companies from Clitheroe also received awards at the ceremony, with Silverwoods Waste management claiming the small business award and James’ Place winning the tourism and leisure business award.
