One of Nelson's new super-schools has named its new headteacher.

But Steve Wilson, 45, has already settled in - he has been acting head there since January, and was also in the top job for a year at Mansfield High School.

The former maths teacher also spent 13 years at Colne Primet High School.

The father-of-two's first task in his new role was to show Pendle MP Gordon Prentice, round the building site for the new school.

He said: "I've been teaching in Pendle for 20 years and this is the most exciting thing that's happened.

"I'm delighted to be involved in a leadership role."
