A MAN who took a vehicle without the consent of the owner and went on to drive it while three times over the drink limit has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Blackburn Magistrates heard how Jason Michael Ludlam took the Nissan Juke and drove it through Burnley on July 7.
Ludlam was arrested by police in Rossetti Avenue, Burnley, but before the vehicle had been covered damage had been done to it, the court heard.
Ludlam, 26, of Richmond Street in Accrington, pleaded guilty to drink-driving, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
He was banned from driving for 26 months and sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment, suspended for two years. Ludlam must also pay £600 in court costs and compensation.
