A MAN driving down Manchester Road in Accrington, with two children in his vehicle was hit from behind by another car.

Blackburn magistrates heard witnesses estimated the black Audi TT had been travelling at about 70mph before the impact.

And after colliding with the car and sending it into a spin Amir Hussain overtook, forcing two other cars off the road before speeding off.

Hussain, 34, of Heywood Street, Cheetham Hill, Manchester, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and failing to stop after an accident.

He was sent in custody to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced on February 10.

The court heard John Holt was travelling through Accrington when he was shunted from behind.

He initially thought he may have suffered a blow-out but then saw the Audi race past and realised what had happened.

He said his main concern was for the safety of his children.

The court heard Hussain had been banned from driving in June.

Sending the case to the crown court for sentencing, District Judge James Clarke said the dangerous driving was aggravated by the fact Hussain was disqualified.

“There were passengers involved and it seems they were asking you to stop,” said District Judge Clarke.

“Luckily nobody was injured.”
