The alarm went off after they broke in on Tuesday at around 4.30am and they were caught on CCTV.

Cin Cin, a gin and tonic bar, was set up behind The Bridgewater by Andy Shorrock late last year.

Mr Shorrock said: “I was sickened about this. It’s horrible when you are a new business.

“It’s not even what was taken that bothers me, it’s just that someone targeted the bar like this.

“We’ve had to board up the door which has cost a few hundred pounds and I’m still in the process of getting it fully replaced.

“I hope it won’t put people off coming here because we have a great gin tasting night coming up.

“Darwen people have been amazing on social media helping us with identifying the culprits so I’d like to say thanks to everyone.”

A police investigation has been launched.

Anyone with information is being asked to call police on 101.
