A TEAM of Lancashire lasses have proved their culinary skills are top notch after winning Gordon Ramsey's F-Word.

Sisters Judith Hilton, Susan Lees, and Sandra Drummond, all from Ramsbottom, and friend Justine French, of Edgworth, have been crowned champions of series three.

And their winning prize was to cook at Gordon's Claridges restaurant in London, which they did three weeks ago.

They served up king crab (tortollini) with a lemon grass and tomato dressing and hot chocolate souffle, as well as leg of lamb and shepherds pie, courtesy of one of lambs Gordon had be rearing in his garden.

Judith, 43, who runs the Park Farm tea room in Manchester Road, said: "It is absolutely fantastic to have won. It's brilliant, out of this world. We did Lancashire proud.

"Claridges is a lovely professional restaurant.

"Gordon said he was so pleased that we were back and was quietly confident with us as he kept going out the kitchen as he had things to tie up for the end of the show.

"We met his children and they are lovely. They thanked us for cooking the lamb."

Visitors to the restaurant on the night included comedian Jonny Vegas, Sarah Beanie, from TV show Property Ladder and star of The Office, Ricky Gervais.

The girls won through after managing to get diners at the F Word restaurant to pay for 126 meals out of 150 when they first appeared on the show in May.

That time around the team served pea salad with pancetta for starters and a main course of pan-fried halibut with tandoori spice, sauteed potatoes and cucumber raita, but cooking at Claridges was the icing on the cake.

Judith said: "It was just an amazing experience and I think he enjoyed it and was as proud of us as we were."

The Lancashire Lasses at Claridges will be aired on Channel 4, on July 3.
