FIRE crews from Lancashire were called to help emergency fllod efforts in Yorkshire last night.
The fire station in Belvedere Road, Burnley, is the only station in East Lancashire which has a high volume pump.
The crews were called to Rotherham in the early hours of today to pump water out of a reservoir to ease pressure on the dam after yesterday's torrential rainfall.
Burnley is one of eight crews currently in the area.
Three people have died as a result of the floods.
Crew manager Dave Robinson said: "The night crew were mobilised in the early hours of the morning. All of the crew went to the incident with the high volume pump.
"This is the first time it has gone out of the county. The high volume pump pumps large volumes of water away from a site and can pump upto three kilometres. "
