Following two ectopic pregnancies, the 33-year-old admitted that her health was suffering because of her weight.
She said: “The way I was living was just unreal. I would eat crisps for breakfast and lunch.
“I was living off take-aways and it was getting out of control. I was just eating junk, I started to feel really lethargic and run down.”
The care worker said she lost five stone going from 16 to 11 stone in one year.
The mum-of-one said: “I started to blame my body because of the ectopic pregnancies although medics confirmed that it wasn’t my fault, I was completely fed up.
“But I have started to re-educate myself and I feel fantastic.
“It’s unbelievable to think I was a dress size 22 and now I am able to get into a size 10.”
On a regular basis she would order fast food from one of Darwen’s many takeaways and lived off ‘junk’.
She now cooks healthy meals and attends a boxercise class at Hollins Grove three times a week.
Mrs Halliwell said: “I plan my meals and eat healthy, nutritional snacks. I also exercise to get my metabolism going.
“I have found that boxercise to be the best fitness programme.
“I am not lazy. People probably looked at me before when I was overweight and thought I was.
“I am a carer and walk all over the place but it was just the rubbish and junk food that I was eating.
“I have re-educated myself on how to eat.
“I am cooking ahead and love the way that I look.
“I believe that you are what you eat and my good diet is reflecting in the way I look and feel, and that’s great.”
