A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl who suffers from a rare kidney disorder is to fulfil her dream of singing at Wembley stadium alongside pop star Nicole Scherzinger.

Ella Chadwick has battled congenital nephrotic syndrome since she was a baby and, after 38 operations, two years ago received a kidney from her grandma.

Her mum Karen Hughes said she has come on “leaps and bounds” since the operation, although a low immune system means she is more susceptible to infections and she was diagnosed with type one diabetes.

This doesn’t stop her from singing, however, which her mum said is her favourite thing to do.

Ella, from Whitworth, is a member of the Rays of Sunshine Wish Choir, who will be singing at the SSE Arena in Wembley with X Factor judge Nicole on Monday, October 24.

No stranger to the stage, she previously sang Don’t Stop Believin’ for Simon Cowell after charity Rays of Sunshine, which grants wishes for children with serious and life-limiting illnesses, arranged it for her.

Mrs Hughes, 35, said: “Rays of Sunshine got in touch and asked her what she would want to do. I thought it would be going to Disneyland, but she said she wanted to sing to Simon Cowell.

“The charity said they could not guarantee that, but when we went to X Factor Ella was asking everyone if she could sing to him.

“She also went to Mark Ronson’s studio and sang Uptown Funk with him.

“Her favourite thing is being in front of the microphone. She has loved it since she was a baby and even when she was poorly she would be singing away.”

The family went again to watch the X Factor being filmed when Ella met Nicole. Afterwards Nicole contacted the charity and asked if she could sing with the choir.

“She is really looking forward to Monday. There are not many people who can say they have sung at Wembley,” Mrs Hughes said.

Nicole Scherzinger said: “Seeing Ella’s beautiful smile again brightened up my day.

“I can’t wait to take to the stage and help Rays of Sunshine brighten the lives of many more brave and deserving children.

“This concert is such a unique event, with more than a thousand seriously ill children in the audience, that it’s an absolute honour to be a part of it. It’s going to be a fantastic show.”

Also performing will be Shawn Mendes, DNCE, Fleur East, X Factor reigning winner Louisa Johnson, Conor Maynard, rock pop band Lawson and James TW.
