A WOMAN who dropped four dress sizes and lost five stone, said her life has ‘changed forever’.

Emma Tye, from Longridge, weighed in at 18stones at Christmas 2012 and then transformed her diet and lifestyle.

The 35-year-old, who used to live off a diet of fatty foods and chocolate, now weighs a healthier 13 stones. The former Ribblesdale High School pupil joined her nearest Weight Watchers group to help her drop the pounds.

Mrs Tye said getting into the habit of eating healthily was the key to her success. She said: “I have so much more energy, so much more confidence. It has changed my life forever.

“It’s made me like my own body. I can go out and enjoy shopping because I can go out and buy clothes that would have never dreamt of buying.

“I got myself into bad ways, constantly snacking and eating very fatty, very sugary foods all the time.

“I thought enough was enough when I was struggling to put on a pair of jeans that I owned that were already quite big.

“So I decided to revamp my diet and become more active.”

Mrs Tye’s diet now consists of lots of fruit and porridge, followed by completing 10 kilometres of cycling on her exercise bike. After joining the weight-loss group, Mrs Tye is now a full-time leader and holds regular sessions to help others lose weight.

She said: “I never used to eat breakfast but now I make sure I eat either fruit or porridge.

“I’ve also cut down on bread, I’ve replaced it with other foods to make me feel full. It’s not about completely cutting things from your life because you will fall back into bad ways. It’s about having everything in moderation and enjoying yourself.

“My husband, Ashley, is definitely liking the new me but , most importantly, I’m liking the new me.”

“I would like to lose a little bit more, but it’s not about the numbers it’s about how I feel and look.”
