And the court was told he dragged her with such force that her hair extensions became detached.

Keenan, 24, of Duke Street, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to assaulting Chloe Keenan and resisting a police officer.

He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with a 25 day rehabilitation activity requirement, ordered to do 150 hours unpaid work and pay an £85 victim surcharge.

Philippa White, prosecuting, said Chloe Keenan had gone to the home of her brother and his partner and all three had been drinking. At some point a mutual friend came round and due to things that were said there was an argument.

“He became aggressive and his sister was worried what he might do,” said Mrs White. “She was concerned for his partner’s safety. In removing his sister from the premises he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her to the door, at the same time punching her in the face several times. He pulled her hair so hard that her extensions became detached.”

When police arrived they found Keenan naked from the waist up. He was agitated and resisted arrest and limb restraints had to be applied.

“During the struggle he tried to bite an officer,” said Mrs White.

Gareth Price, defending, said Keenan recognised that alcohol was a problem and he hadn’t had a drink since the incident on May 21.

“He accepts his behaviour was inappropriate towards his sister and the officer,” said Mr Price.
