OFFICERS are hunting a cyclist who indecently exposed himself on a canal towpath in Nelson.

Police said the man exposed his genitals as he was riding on the towpath of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, close to Spring Bank Mill in Every Street, at around 10.15am yesterday.

Officers attended the scene but could not find anyone matching the man's description. He is aid to have been wearing a green jacket and grey pants.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to Every Street in Nelson at around 10.30am on June 27 to reports of suspicious circumstances. It is alleged that at around 10.15am a man was cycling along the canal towpath, near to Spring Bank Mill, indecently exposing himself.

"Officers attended the scene but were unable to locate a man matching the description given."

No arrests have been made.
