BLACKBURN Rovers have signed Scotland Under-21 international left-back Stephen Hendrie on a season-long loan from West Ham United.
Here are six interesting facts about the youngster...
1. The Glaswegian began his career at Hamilton. He made his club debut on July 23, 2011 in the Scottish Challenge Cup first round at Hampden Park. He went on to make 117 appearances for the club.
2. The left-back received his first international call-up to the Scotland under-17 squad on October 12, 2011. He made his international debut for the under-21s in September 2014.
3. Hendrie was on the bench for both of West Ham's UEFA Europa League qualifying fixtures against Maltese side Birkirkara back in 2015 - after the joining last summer.
4. Hendrie linked up with Phil Brown at Southend in January 2016 for a loan spell with the League One side. It was, in fact, Brown who recommended the youngster to Rovers boss, and former Bolton team-mate, Owen Coyle.
5. He won the U21 Premier League Cup with West Ham last season - beating Hull City 5-3 on penalties in the final. The young defender scored his spot kick. #Composure
6. And finally, the Scottish defender shares his birthday with Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Stephen Hawking and Kim Jong-un. (January 8)
