LEAGUE leaders Burnley boast a 100 per cent record from 16 games against bottom-nine teams so far this season.

The Clarets are aiming to make it 17 at 18th-placed Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

The Terriers earned their first win in four games by beating Reading 3-1 at home on Tuesday to improve their position in the bottom half, although Rotherham’s win over high-flying Middlesbrough means they are just seven points clear of the relegation zone.

But Championship manager of the month Sean Dyche stressed they would not be taking their position for granted.

“We take every game seriously, we don’t overthink,” said the Burnley boss.

“Everyone’s a dangerous opponent, no matter what the circumstances, no matter what their position, whether they’re winning or losing games. The biggest show of that was Bolton. They’re having a tough season for different reasons on and off the pitch, and yet against us I thought Bolton were very good and are a good side.

“We didn’t take them for granted, we certainly won’t take Huddersfield for granted, or anyone else for that matter.

“We take everyone seriously, they’re in the division for a reason. It’s a tough division and a tough ask, so we make sure that we show clarity to our thoughts on what we want to deliver and that’s our intention.”

Burnley have gone 13 league games without defeat since going down 3-0 at then leaders Hull City on Boxing Day. And Dyche feels they are showing signs of their 2013-14 promotion push.

“There’s certainly a strong will and desire," he said. "That’s been seen with the last couple of games, the last couple of victories, certainly Bolton and Blackburn because they were about digging in.

“They were on a day when you’re not quite on your game and the opposition are and you have to dig in and find away of winning.

“Fulham was slightly different, we weren’t so good in the first half but in the second half we were strong again saw the game out rightly and properly in the end to get the three points.

“Before those three some of our football has been terrific.

“I think finding that mixture of different ways to win and finding that will and desire to glue it all together, there’s plenty of that and plenty of belief here. It’s the right mix, it’s just how far we can take it."
