DAVID Jones is expected to be available for Burnley’s trip to Huddersfield Town this weekend after recovering from the Achilles problem that ruled him out of the midweek win at Fulham.

The midfielder was withdrawn from the derby win over Blackburn Rovers last Saturday after flagging up the complaint around the hour mark.

But following treatment and rest Jones is likely to come back into manager Sean Dyche’s thinking as Burnley look for a sixth win on the spin.

“We’re hopeful David Jones will be back in contention for this weekend,” said the Burnley boss, who gave Fredrik Ulvestad his first Championship start against the Cottagers.

“We like Fredi, he’s done well over a period of time and under the radar really.

“He’s played in a couple of important games for us at Middlesbrough and Arsenal away in the cup.

“He’s played in parts of games and been in and out of the squad.

"He’s still getting used to the footballing culture and still adapting to that and it will do him the world of good to play the other night.

“But he’s well aware there are other good players.

“Dean Marney is coming back to full fitness and we all know what he’s done over his time here.

“Joey is playing ever so well.

“I think we’ve done very well with the squad depth and the design of the squad. We’ve still used the least amount of players in the division and yet we’ve got strength in most if not all areas.”
