PRETTY 21-year-old Nicola Oxlade will look to put Morecambe on the worldwide map after beating off red-hot competition to be crowned Miss Morecambe.
The Lancaster University accounting, auditing and finance student, pictured, came out on top of a field of 20 stunners in a glittering ceremony at the Carleton.
It was a tough night for the judging panel, which included Morecambe FC stars Scott Davies and Paul Lloyd, rugby league hero Mark Edmondson and the Citizen's Matt Donlan - but at the end of a long evening they picked Nicola.
Five-feet seven-inches tall brunette Nicola, who is to studying to be a chartered accountant, has played the piano and cornet since she was eight and also enjoys playing hockey, netball and lacrosse.
Says Nicola: "My main aim at the moment is to get the best degree mark I can and go on to successfully become a chartered accountant.
"I also enjoy modelling and hope to continue this too. As Miss Morecambe I also hope to get involved with the promotion of the resort and achieve greater awareness for it."
