A MAN has been charged with two counts of battery following an incident in Burnley town centre where a Taser was drawn by police.
Graeme Hughes, 37, has also been charged with possession of a knife.
It is alleged that Hughes, of Worsley Street, Accrington, threatened members of the public with a knife in Burnley town centre.
The incident is alleged to have happened around Hammerton Street at 4am this morning.
Nobody was injured.
Police were called to the incident and a spokesman for the force confirmed a Taser was drawn and an officer was authorised to discharge it. But it wasn't used.
Police said a knife was recovered at the scene.
Hughes is set to appear before Blackburn Magistrates' tomorrow morning.
