BURY actress Lisa Riley is set to take a trip back in time when she stars in the new series of Holiday Of My Lifetime.

The former Emmerdale star joins Strictly Come Dancing head judge Len Goodman who takes her on a journey to Bronte Country — Haworth in West Yorkshire — to re-create a family trip she had there in 1992.

The pair travel in a Citroen CX, just like the one Lisa's mum drove all those years ago, and after the obligatory Barbra Streisand singalong, Lisa explains the importance of the Bronte sisters on her childhood, later visiting the Bronte memorial chapel while chatting about the actress's career.

Len said: "I love Britain, which is a strong start. And to be paid to explore different places that I've never been to - or heard of - and replicate the time, is great.

"It's not until you visit that you realise how beautiful and diverse our nation really is.”

The show aims to take the guest back to the sights, sounds and smells of their past, in addition to sharing family photographs, archive footage, retro tasty treats and historical insights.

"When you get to a certain age, everything was better in the past," said Len. "Strictly takes you back to a more elegant era with ballroom dancing, and it's the same with this show. For people sitting indoors watching, suddenly they're in the New Forest and they're reminiscing with, 'Oh, do you remember when?'

"You can't beat a holiday in Britain, especially when you get lovely weather."

As well as Lisa, other well known faces include Toyah Willcox, Pam St Clement, Edwina Currie, Jake Wood, Janet Ellis and Dan Walker, with destinations such as Haworth, Llangollen, Dartmoor, Bournemouth, Bude, the New Forest and Aberdeen on the list.

The presenter's Strictly co-star Anton du Beke is also featured packing his suitcase for a revisit to the bright lights of Blackpool.

Len said: "Every one of the trips had something about it. For example, I've never been on a narrow boat before, and there I am on the Norfolk Broads with Fiona Phillips.

"They've all been lovely. I've been everywhere, from Herne Bay to West Ireland."

Holiday Of My Lifetime with Lisa Riley airs on BBC1 today(THUR) at 3.45pm.
