A FEMALE shop assistant was threatened with a knife during a ‘terrifying’ robbery at a newsagents.

Detectives have issued CCTV images of a male suspect wanted over the robbery at Londis in Eaves Lane, Chorley.

A man approached a member of staff who was behind the till, threatened her with a knife and demanded she open the till.

He escaped with £135 in cash and the shop worker was unharmed.

The man was white and wearing a dark jacket with white specks on the hood, snood and gloves. The incident happened on Friday, January 22.

Det Con Dom Webster said: “This was a terrifying incident for the member of staff who was threatened with a knife while she was alone in the shop. We are keen to trace the man pictured in the CCTV images and if anyone has any information that could assist with our investigation then I would urge them to get in touch.”
