RESIDENTS in Hyndburn are being encouraged to take advantage of National Voter Registration Drive this week.

On Thursday, May 5, voters will elect local government councillors in Hyndburn and a police and crime commissioner for Lancashire.

Anyone who has not registered to vote will not be able to take part and have their say. The deadline is on Monday, April 18.

Jane Ellis, electoral registration officer for Hyndburn, said: “Anyone not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible, so they can have their say on issues that affect their day-to-day lives.

“I would urge people living in Hyndburn to use National Voter Registration Drive to spread the message amongst family and friends that it only takes a few minutes to complete the form and register to vote online.”

To request a paper registration form, phone the electoral registration office on 01254 388111.
