INSPIRATIONAL six-year-old Annabelle Griffin took to the pitch during Bury's League Cup match with Leicester City last month.

Annabelle had the chance to meet her favourite players Nathan Cameron and Ryan Lowe, as she raised awareness of the charity she inspired, Annabelle's Challenge, which recently partnered with the club to boost its profile in the area.

The Brandlesholme youngster has Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (VEDS) — an extremely rare condition which means the slightest knock could result in a trip to hospital.

Dad Jared Griffin said: "We were delighted to have Annabelle as their mascot and proud to see her on the pitch with the team. She even took part in the minute's silence held for the victims of the Shoreham air disaster.

"Annabelle thoroughly enjoyed her experience and we appreciate the support of the club and their supporters."

The charity will be hosting as Christmas themed event at the club in December with further events planned, after a family fun day last month which raised £875.
