Peter Andre has said he’d like to be paired with Ola Jordan on Strictly Come Dancing.
The music and TV star revealed he and the professional dancer have had a “long-standing” joke about him doing the show.
“I’ve met her many times in the past and we always joked for years, it’s been going on for years, where I said ‘I’ll only ever do Strictly if you’re my partner’,” he told Free Radio. “Because she kept saying, ‘When are you gonna come on the show, when are you gonna do it?’.”
Due to other commitments, Peter’s had to turn the show down for the last three years.
Only some of the celebrity names have been announced so far, including: Boxer Anthony Ogogo, Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell, BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott, broadcaster Jeremy Vine, former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote, EastEnders actress Kellie Bright and newsreader Katie Derham.
The Mysterious Girl singer, who is set to release more music this year, also spoke about not having an advantage over the other contestants.
“How do we know that the weather lady doesn’t go home, and goes upstairs, and underneath her weather costume is sparkles, and she stands in front of that mirror and she is unbelievable? Nobody knows that!” he said. “What about Ainsley Harriott, he’s good with his hands, but how do we know he isn’t going to be good with his feet?”
He also joked he’d be picking Ainsley’s brain about cooking as a distraction.
Hold My Hand singer Jess Glynne recently announced on Twitter she will be performing on the launch show.
The 13th series of Strictly Come Dancing begins on BBC One in September.
