THERE is a giant opportunity for a budding actress from Bolton to take a principal role in this year's pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.

The show, which will be performed at the Macron Stadium, is offering the part of Jill to a talented woman from the borough who impresses judges at an open audition later this month.

The panto is being staged by Fame Factory Spotlight and the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust.

It starts on December 4 and stars Coronation Street's Graham Hawley and Emmerdale's Chelsea Halfpenny.

Production manager Nikki Clarkson said: "As it's the 30th anniversary of the community trust, we decided it would be a wonderful idea to offer such an amazing opportunity to one of our own members of the community.

"With an amazing line up of TV stars and professional cast members already signed up, we decided to leave the part of principal girl Jill open for a local talented female.

"Previous experience is not at all necessary, it may even be your first time on stage, or maybe you are already a seasoned professional in the performing arts sector.

"As we are aiming to give back to the community, you are also required to reside within the North West, or have grown up locally.

"Growing up in Bolton myself until the age of 17, it's been an ambition of mine to have one of our larger scale productions in Bolton for many years, it's so nice to be able to produce in my home town, so I know it will be amazing to give some deserving talent that very opportunity."

The requirements for the role are a female aged 17 to 30, no taller than 5ft 8in, a dress size eight to 14, who has a great vocal ability and is able to act well.

Candidates must be available between November 27 and January 3.

Auditions will be held on August 30 at the Platinum Suite in Bolton Whites Hotel from 10am.

Candidates must email nikki@famefactoryspotlight.co.uk for a list of audition numbers and to register.
