DAREDEVIL fundraisers are being urged join more than a hundred people getting barefoot and brave for a charity firewalk.

The Big Bury Firewalk will be held as part of Bury Light Night on October 16 at The Rock, with the proceeds going towards young people's drug and alcohol charity Early Break.

Daniel Rostron, training and marketing development worker for Early Break, said: "It's not often you come across a Firewalk in the middle of winter in Bury. It's a great way to meet new friends, challenge yourself and raise much-needed funds for Early Break.

"All the money raised on the night will be ploughed back into projects in Bury to help young people and families overcome the many issues surrounding substance misuse.

"We encourage everyone to get involved in what promises to be a fun night and the shortest sponsored walk you will ever do."

It costs £10 to register online for the event, which is sponsored by BCC Cars in Bury and Bolton, and volunteers are asked to raise a minimum of £50.
