Paedophile hunter, Stinson Hunter, is planning to launch a sting operation broadcast live on the web which he has announced, will be his swansong.

Stinson, from Nuneaton, will be moving away from catching perverts and plans to start educating children in schools on the dangers of meeting strangers.

He is planning to go out with a bang and hopes the live operation, set to start on Saturday, will show that the scale of child grooming online remains a serious threat, reports the Coventry Telegrah.

It is unknown which areas the sting will focus on.

“We want to show people how bad the problem is,” he said.

“It’s been a year since The Paedophile Hunter aired on Channel 4 and it’s still happening.

“Someone might turn up. I hope they don’t but they might.

“I’m sure people will say that if online predators know what we’re doing they’ll be on their guard, but it hasn’t stopped them so far.

“I would rather people were scared off and they didn’t try and meet kids.”

Stinson Hunter on Channel 4's The Paedophile Hunter Hunter has always said he wanted to move away from catching sex offenders in sting operations.

While his activities have increased his profile they have left him struggling financially and, on at least one occasion, on the brink of homelessness.

He now plans to take some time out before plotting his next move, which he hopes will involve him speaking to children directly about the dangers of online predators.

“This will be my swansong,” he said. “It will be good.

“It’s hard to explain what sort of form it will take - it’s easier if people see it.”

Discussing his future Hunter said: “I don’t want to catch people any more.

“I don’t feel that I need to. I did it to get attention for the subject.

“I’ve done that now - why keep repeating it?

“I’ve got a profile and I need to use it for more positive things instead of running around catching people doing things they shouldn’t be.”

The live sting will see Hunter communicate with potential targets and also answer questions from viewers.

Depending on how it goes the live stream, which starts at midday on Saturday, could last for six hours or 24 hours.

“This is how I wanted to do it at the very start,” he said.

“When I first bought a camera this is what I wanted to do.”
