BLACKBURN Rovers have completed a double deal for French pair Sacha Petshi and Bangaly Fode-Koita.

Midfielder Petshi, 23, has put pen-to-paper a one-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months, following a successful trial at the club.

Striker Koita, a former France Under-21 international, has signed a contract until the summer of 2017.

“I’m very happy to sign for Blackburn," Petshi said. "It is a good club, with good facilities and a good team.

“It has always been my goal to play in England. I love English football and I think my physique will suit the English game.

“I’m here to play, to learn and to help the team win lots of games.”

Petshi began his career with Troyes, before joining fellow French outfit Orléans on loan.

After a short spell in Serbia, with Sloboda Užice, Petshi returned to his homeland last season, featuring regularly for Corsican club CA Bastia.

Having linked up with Rovers earlier this summer, the 6'4" Frenchman impressed in the pre-season victory against Accrington Stanley and on the warm weather training camp in Portugal.

Koita, 24, previously played for French side Caen having also represented Montpellier.

"I'm very happy to be here, it is my dream to play in England and now my dream has come true," Koita said.


"I want to work hard and I hope I win many games for my new team.


"In France the game is more technical, but here it is physical, it is very strong. I am here to learn and to do my best.


"I am really excited because I have waited to be here and now I am, I want to be happy."
