KENDALl Calling Festival has always championed exciting homegrown talent alongside huge national acts, and this year is no different.

Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, 2015 sees this ethos remain at the heart of the festival, with multiple acts on the expansive line-up hailing from Cumbria and surrounding areas.

Festivalgoers will be delighted to hear friends of Kendal British Sea Power will be headlining the Woodlands Stage on Saturday night, after being included in the initial line-up announcement earlier this year.

Now based in Brighton but originally from Natland, their performance looks set to be nothing short of stunning, with fans able to see the forward-thinking indie group in an unusually intimate setting, which will no doubt prove to be one of the weekend’s most poignant moments.

Hailing from Cumbria, Lancashire and the rest of the globe too, Slamboree will be bringing their visually stunning live show to headline the Friday night, with the previously announced Colt 45 and Kontiki Suite set for afternoon slots.

Today has also seen the announcement of more Cumbrian acts, with Chadelics, Seven Seals and the incomparable Room Full Of Mirrors all added to the bill.

Hailing from Lancaster, Lake Komo are one of the weekend’s hottest prospects, sure to rise up the festival ranks in the coming years, while Alex Hulme and the newly announced Molly Warburton will also represent the nearby county with stunning performances.

Much-hyped new acts Woodsmen and Gritty Britain join the new announcements from nearby Arnside.

A host of new DJ’s have also been announced for this year’s festival, with resident DJ’s including Kendal’s Fallback Productions, Sam P, Ash Howell (who will also be hosting a day in The Glow Tent with Lowdown), and Shaolin Monkey sure to get crowds dancing after being added to the bill today.

Other additions include Carlisle’s Ki Creighton, Brough’s The Raged, and Penrith’s Bear Essentials.

Last month, Kendal Calling was humbled to announce that its 10th anniversary show has sold out 5 months before the festival takes place in the Lake District.

With hundreds of fantastic artists taking to the stage over 4 days, festival goers have snapped up tickets for what is certain to be one of the highlights of the summer cultural calendar.

And his year organisers have also announced they plan to hold a Real Ale Festival.

Taking place on site at the Real Ale Tent this is truly a festival within a festival. With the Lake District famous for its pubs, incredible ales and amazing atmosphere it’s only right that connoisseurs and the uninitiated alike are all invited to come and have a taste of some of the finest beverages from some of the best breweries in the country including the return of Tirril, Lancaster and Ennerdale. With each beer carefully handpicked by our very own team of ale experts, including the signature ‘Kend’ale’, visitors are really in for a treat.

The event takes place from 30th July until 2nd August 2015 at Lowther Deer Park.
