A WOMAN with an alcohol problem died after falling down the stairs of her Waterfoot home following a drinking session, an inquest heard.
The hearing was told Jean Cunliffe, 58, was taken to Burnley General Hospital following the accident at her Woodside Crescent home on June 17.
She died in the early hours of June 18 after suffering a heart attack in hospital.
The inquest was told Mrs Cunliffe, who was more than four times over the drink-drive limit, would often collapse after drinking alcohol.
Her partner, David Mannion, said he escorted Mrs Cunliffe to the bottom of the stairs because she was unsteady on her feet and she fell when she reached the top of the stairs. The East Lancashire coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death.
