A MAN has been ordered to pay £200 after letting his dog foul Rishtons canal towpath.
Graham White, of Spring Street, Rishton, was fined £50 and ordered to pay £150 costs by Hyndburn Magistrates' Court for failing to clean up after his pet.
White had been offered the chance to pay a £50 fixed penalty but had denied he had committed the offence.
Hyndburn Council then took him to court, where he was found guilty and ordered to pay the extra £150 in costs.
Coun Peter Clarke said: "We will not tolerate the blight of dog fouling."
